Mir fliegen gleich die Löcher aus dem Käse....

...and other such silly things. Often you under-appreciate and take things for granted, especially your family. Perhaps, because you are so close to those you love it is also easy to get into little squabbles or find some of their ticks annoying but at the end of the day this is your family and you wouldn't want to miss them. My momma's visit was great :) specially our daily (sometimes forced) walks yay for walking.
Also being with Oma is great, though that is also mostly under-appreciated or it was until she went back to the hospital now that she is better I realize that she is not something to take for granted :)
I've been spoiling her, cooking tea when she forgets, cleaning the house, doing dishes YAY
mmh...other than that I am just figuring out my future, what to do, what to do????
I'm a really bad blogger sorry O.o
Mehbe I do better next time
till then

Also-this is my most recent mug shot :D

On Going Home and Coming Home

As you know I went back to the States over Christmas. And quite frankly it was the most wonderful time-minus the procrastination and paper writing. It is wonderful to be able to go back home, where your parents are and just be at least partially a child again. Of course a lot has changed, after all for the first time I had been independent and living on my own, this somehow changes the dynamic of things..but at the same time it doesn't because to your parents no matter how old you are you are the child. Daddy does always say I'm his baby, and I will always be his baby even when I'm 50, and even though that at times is weird-there is something very soothing about knowing that you will always be someones precious child :)! It is something I used to never think about, and take for granted-but being away I do realize that I love my parents so so much and I miss them! The same of course goes for my sister-some things stayed the same, but it seems that we kept the arguing to a minimum, as a matter of fact one of the favorite things when I was there was us going and painting a picture for New Years! Also road tripping to Kentucky!! Awesome :) and now I get to be an auntie to a little well who knows but it'll get spoiled :D!!!!! Well once I am done with school and have a job, but still-everything changes but I think from going home some things will not! I love going home.
As for coming home-I missed my little apartment in Bremen. It is wonderful to come of the plane and have a friend waiting for you, someone who will take you home, wait for you to shower then go for food and shopping :)! Since I've been back I have seen all of my friends on many occasions and I realize just how lucky I am. I had friends in the U.S. but except for a fair few, which I will not specify, they were mostly fake-the friends I have made here are real, they care about my well being and that is awesome! I wish I would never have to leave, but graduation is approaching therefore I am writing my thesis and steadily applying to different programs as well as to teaching jobs such as teach for America. I am also considering the Peace Corps. We will see what pans out. For now I thesis write and enjoy my friends company. They are quite brilliant and always there for me :) I shall try to keep you updated

Cologne-A little late ;)

So on Thanksgiving I went to Cologne for a DAAD tagung with my work. We had a workshop on writing for the Internet, including how to write blogs. Of course this would be for those who blog newsreports and stuff and actually want a lot of people to read their blogs. However, I will not bore you with the specifics on writing, as either you already know how to, or you don't need professional writing skills. :)
So instead I will talk about the more fun parts. As I already said we took the train to Cologne on the 25th of November. From the train station, we (my co-worker and I) walked to our hotel, which due to our lack of knowledge of where we were going took about an hour. I would complain about this, but really the exercise was nice, although carrying a heavy bag for that much is not so much fun. Once we arrived at the Hotel, it was time to go to dinner with the DAAD group. We ended up being a little bit late, however we were not the latest of the group ;)!
Dinner was awesome and yummy! Once the group leaders left, we finished up dinner, we had some nice conversation and a guy randomly bought everyone a glass of Kölsch since we let him have a part of our buffet. Post-eating, we decided to go out, as a group, get to know everyone. We started at the Christmas Market which was unfortunately already closed, and then we ended up at a random karaoke bar. Two of the group were even willing to sing so it was fun!! Since the workshops would start early the next morning, most of us decided to go back to the hotel and sleep.
On Saturday, after the workshop, which took most of the day but was awesome, the DAAD made sure that we would have some free time. With some of the kids of my writing group, we decided to go over the Christmas Market in front of the Cathedral, which in and of itself is impressive. But even the Christmas Market was quite awesome. We decided to eat some yummy steak on bred, and then looked over the rest of the booths. As we all had a long day, we decided not to go out, instead we went back to the hotel and watched a movie together. The Kite Runner, was a very good movie and we all ended up getting enough sleep, to get up early and be there for the closing remarks the next morning.
It was impressive how quickly we all seemed to make friends. Even now many of us still keep in touch on Facebook or on Skype. We are even planning on meeting up again! Cologne, even though only 3days, was quite an experience, one that I would love to repeat!!

Obama Shoes and a Hat

Hey Everyone!!!

Its Winter up in here, and its cooooooold! brrrrrrrrrr
But I got new shoes, there from the brand called Bama, but when looking at the logo it totally reads Obama, so I got me some Obama shoes. They are super comfy and one pair is also quite warm so great for this Bremen Weather :)

One pair is a ballet flat, so good for wearing with skirts, which is currently my new obsession skirts :) I have no clue where that came from but I just love wearing them, even though it is getting to cold and my tights just aren't warm enough.

However, not only does it snow in this nice cold weather, it also makes it possible for me to wear hats :)! And after years of hating hats, because I just have too much hair and they look funny, I have learned to embrace my hair, and the wonderfulness of wearing warming, and stylish hats :)! I got a new one and it is awesome!!! Purple with a little bow

Oh and last but not least, I have finally found my favorite perfume. It smells great, and I love it!!! It is Vera Wang's Rock Princess and its awesome. It smells a little of Vanilla, and a little sweet-so it suits me! But that is perty much it!!!

Oh yeah and I went to Cologne, a Blog post shall follow on that asap!

Some things never change

A lot has been changing around me lately, including myself. I am incredibly busy with school, hanging out with friends, work and trying to find time for myself. I am in my last semester of classes for my masters program and I don't have a clue were this last month has gone...I mean really I feel like students just arrived on campus asking me where stuff is and now I have already made really new close friends were did the time go?
Finally though this weekend I managed to go visit gran, which I haven't done since sometime in August and to my relief little to nothing has changed. Sure grandpa is no longer here which is sad, and the keyboard he used to play on is also no longer in the corner in the living room but the rest it seems the same. The couches are as they were, the guest room is still my room, and my uncle comes to visit every day. Most importantly grannys routine has not changed. She gets up at the same time, breakfast, start cooking lunch and watching some tv, lunch at noon then tv or reading then dinner...giving me the chance to rest or chat with her. It is nice that in the hastle of everything else I can count on grandmas routine and the quiet of this area to let me refresh some.
A new blog post shall follow soon.

Worst Blogger Ever

So I am probably the worst blogger in blogging history...the last time I wrote was right before my birthday...and that was in March. Since then my semester has ended, I had summer break and now my semester started again, and alas I am back into writing paper reading articles doing research etc.
On the bright side I got this great roomy in my apartment and we get along great. I cook for her sometimes and sometimes she cooks for me, we go out together and she encourages me to study and do my homework and not procrastinate, which only works sometimes as I am still a procrastinator ;) Just take this blog...I need to be writing a summary but instead i am writing a blog without much information in it.
I am in love with Vera Wang's Rock Princess perfume...that is my newest news. It smells so good and its an "adult" smell not a sweet fruity smell that I generally go for...sooooo good.
Mmmh What else? I don't really know I think I will start blogging more often, if I don't and you miss reading my updates let me know
